In Response To: Re: Sigh... (Zeouterlimits) : I'd say plenty of the 7 shorts look "like" Halo (which is an odd : statement to begin with). : Did the Moebius part of the Graphic Novel look like Halo? Or the manga part : with Sargent Johnson? : Perhaps it isn't mean to appeal to all 10 million of the fanbase?
I don't know where you got the idea that I'm not even gonna give this a chance... I'm just saying my hopes for it are really low. I'm a little baffled at how you've come to the conclusion that because I don't like this idea that I don't like any other ideas. I own all the Halo books and have read them all, I own the graphic novel and have read it, and I own all three games and played through them all. I watched all of the Blomkamp Halo shorts and loved them. The Believe campaign was brilliant. I have not read Uprising, but not because I think it looks bad, but because I haven't had the funds - or patience - to look into it. It actually looks great. I have not played Halo Wars, not because it looks like a bad game, but because RTS games on consoles scare me. What I was getting at here was that Halo is a western-developed, space marine action shooter set in a world that its fanbase hold dear. Bungie created a world that I love, and seeing Microsoft whore it out frightens me a little. I plan to give Halo: Legends a chance, but my hopes aren't very high. This preview reminds me of a lot of bad anime that I've watched in the past, particularly the strange mech part. There were scenes I found interesting; but, in my opinion, the scary far outweighs the interesting. Obviously this isn't going to appeal to all the Halo fans in the world. Halo 3 didn't appeal to all the Halo fans in the world. I was merely stating my opinion, and I am one of those fans that this idea does not appeal to. I'm very loyal to Halo, but that doesn't mean I love every single thing with Halo's name on it. And, no, I won't like it just because everyone else does. Where you ever got that idea is absolutely absurd.
