Leo Johnson was a character in the TV series 'Twin Peaks' - he was sort of a scumbag, and at one point he got shot up pretty good and ended up nearly braindead. There's a famous episode where he's sitting in the corner of a room, spitting periodically, and saying "New shoes!" Sort of obscure - but it's the first thing that came to mind when I saw gunluva's shoes, so it's what I used for the title.
