What time frame are we talking about? There were Elites on Earth when Regret's ship jumped. The ODSTs landed as the ship jumped so there could easily have been Elites in the city when the capsule opened. : So instead of ret-conning or creating a : group of Loyalists that somehow Truth magically knew would all stay loyal : and also equally magically trusted them enough to send them to Earth - : there's really no way for Elites to be the ODST's enemy. October 20: New Mombasa, Kenya is destroyed by the Slipstream Space Rupture Backlash from the Prophet of Regret's ship. November 2: The Prophet of Regret's ship and In Amber Clad arrive at Delta Halo. Prophet of Regret liquidated by SPARTAN-117. I thought that ODST starts on October 20. That gives 13 days of game play until truth has his pretext for attacking or removing the Elites. We have a 13 day window where Elites are still part of the Covenant. : And I really appreciate the idea that hey, the Elites were an enemy but things have : moved on and you're not going to get that again. Bungie doesn't want Elites in the game. That is their perogative but this is a free choice. They are not forced into it by chronology or awkward facts.
