If you like playing with shading, trying setting up a model (action figure or something), turn the lights off in the room, and shine a flashlight on the model so you can play with direct lighting. Adding a directional light source really makes your drawings dramatic and deep.

If you aren't already familiar with his work (if you're a fan of Halo, I'm sure you've seen some) visit Craig Mullins website. www.goodbrush.com He does awesome work with lighting and shadows.
