You're airmanship is spot on - for a fighter. :)
I think any marine passengers might be a little unhappy with the vertical climbout. That was practically an Immelmann, lol.
Though I do imagine though that Pelican pilots would like to show off their high speed NOE capabilities when the back is empty. It would have too much power not to, especially in the CAS role they also seem to perform.
Its closest real-life equivalent is probably the Russian Mi-24 Hind in terms of an armed troop carrier.
Was that a J-Turn I caught myself seeing towards the end?

Anyway, on a more serious note here, have you tried playing about with the Pelican in a STOL role?
Ever since I noticed what appears to be Russian-esque FOD-guards on the landing gear, I've considered it possible that when the facilities allow, it would be preferred for the Pelican to perform rolling vertical take-off and landings for the sake of engine wear, fuel consumption etc.
The boring bean counting side of the UNSC, like any other military organisation.

A lot like the Harrier really.
Where's that demonstration video I uploaded a few months ago... Ah, yush.

On the more powerful Harrier II models, with their much larger wing, you can probably lower the target airspeed from 90KIAS to 60 or 70.
