The character possesses both male and female traits to my mind, a singular devotion to the mission is quite masculine (prescribing to traditional stereotypes anyway), but the character speaks in a very maternal and nurturing way. Whereas Didact is deeply emotional (feminine) but a warrior (masculine). : -- Steve finds it intriguing that the Y-chromosomal Adam comes from between : 60,000 and 90,000BCE... firmly post-Activation, though that's according to : papers released in 2001 so it's uncertain whether this influenced the Halo : storyline.
