You know, I was thinking a bit (dangerous, I know!).. It remains pretty much a mystery why the Forerunners took a particular interest in us. One possible linkage to the "time rift" theory is that when MC went back and met the Forerunners, they knew that he would be the one to put an end to the Flood. Perhaps they made a note to go and observe and secure Earth and early humanity to assure MC being able to do what he did. It's almost kind of like the "remind me later to go back in time and hide these keys underneath this sign, so that when i look now, they'll be there..." I love this forum. P1
