Well, I think the having the Didact/Librarian actually being MC/Cortana would be interesting. However, there are a few reasons why this seems unlikely, at least to me. First of all, the storyline might be a bit confusing. Ok, ok... We are talking time travel here, so I guess confusing isn't a problem.

I think my biggest gripe with the theory is that forerunner AI, and I assume the forerunners themselves just love to classify things and give out big important titles. 343 GUILTY SPARK is the MONITOR OF INSTALLATION 04!!! If there was someone in the past called Didact, I don't see how they would suddenly change his title to Reclaimer. Again, it is an interesting theory and it may be plausible with some explanation on the part of Bungie.
