ummm, maybe im wrong but...

I always assumed when spark said "you" he ment "forerunner". as in, he was using "you" in a very general sense, he was refering to our entire species. so that means, someone at some point asked spark if he would do it if it was his choice, and sense he has been isolated on halo, he doesnt know that we humans didnt inherit what we were sapose too, that the covenant did. which would explain why he's so confused about master chief's lack of knowledge about everything. or maybe not, thats just what i always thought.
