Am I wrong? As much fun as I think it will be to play Halo Wars, it seems so far off in halo canon that it's stopped bothering me. It's like Evil Dead II. They're trying so hard to be scary, but it's so damned funny that you never mind it not being so. : Instant death shots to the toes FTW. : Anyway, I too share your concerns for Halo Wars place in Halo canon. I think : we can let some things slide, however. This game doesn't really seem to be : very canoninonical (is that a word?) anyway. Humans don't really come into : contact with Forerunner structures until around the time of Halo: CE, and : yet they are all over the place in the game. No Spartan we know of has : encountered Forerunner tech until CE anyway. The Cyclops unit could have : been explained as a Mark 1 - 3 but those were slow and inefficient on the : battlefield, mostly good just for being walking machine guns, while the : Cyclops seems to be a vehicle smashing monstrosity. This game looks fun : but I think we can safely place it in an "alternate" Haloverse, : with some elements that could be worked into the greater Halo canon.
