They'll probably end up being closer to an inch.
I just don't think that it's a movement characteristic of a Spartan.

In the Halo 3 trailer, Chief doesn't run out of the bubble shield, do two backflips over the ledge and attack the brutes.
He just... jumps off. And it still looks cool.

I think there could be an interesting animation where the Spartan climbs over the top of the wraith and slides down to the hatch, or jumps a reasonable height and lands with enough force to make the tank rock back and forth.
