Different Protocols man.

Marathon = Mjolnir Mark IV
Halo = SPARTAN II Mark V (assumed name)

They're different models :)

As in, this is like comparing "steel-suit Mark IV" to "kevlar-vest Mark III" and claiming the steel suit is better :)
