This video footage does look a little cartoonish, but I'm thinking it's because of the extremely high rate of compression... you lose all of the subtle color variations, reflections, and bump mapping in the interest of making the movie really small. Gives it that flat-shaded look, kinda like Oni. Remember, even real-life video footage looks really crappy when reduced to streaming media.
