This is a good question...can you really "kill" Flood anyway? Even in the game, no matter how much you slice and dice them the limbs always move around a little, and even when they are "killed", they scream when you hit them. Even when you pop infection forms, perhaps they just subdivide back into Flood Spores....perhaps you just can't -kill- Flood.
