In Response To: Re: A little speculation *Spoilers* Part 1 (Dubble.utoo) : I don't think the array would destroy all the flood and all their food. As : you would still have to explain how infection forms survived on Alpha : Halo, and how the Gravemind on Delta Halo has knowledge of the : forerunner-flood war... : Unless I'm missing something :-] We all are :-) The installations could have been restocked from the Ark. Flood spores may be resistant. Most spores are pretty tough. Its their job :-) Maybe the spores can convert plant life or infected animals to make them grow infection forms. They could grow like fungal hyphae, digesting dead or living matter until enough biomass is converted, then 'fruiting bodies' would be formed. I'm thinking of the swollen 'pustules' that burst and release infection forms. Think of Isolation. Its on the Ark so its likely that Flood was stored there. It looks like the Flood has infected the grass and soil inside the wall. Of course this super infectivity presents us with problems. Why didn't Flood reestablish itself on every planet where its hosts died? How could it possibly die out if it was that infectious? Can biosystems adapt to the Flood and eventually kill it off? <- a War of the Worlds style fight back.
