It's just so annoying that you see a half hearted appearance of gravemind.

At the end of the covenant the music changes and you'd think all hell was about to break loose.
Gravemind makes an appearance wrestles with the pelican and you fall back to the ground. Ok now you think oh cr@p!

And the he just disappears. This was very disappointing that you don't encounter him in a similar way as you do on delta halo.

The second time he (the tentacle) appears at the end of the cortana mission, it's even more pathetic. One measly tentacle.
It makes me think of the watcher in the water scenario that the production team had on the fellowship of the ring.
The felt that the book describing only one tentacle wasn't;'t enough and they had to flesh it out more to be a more convincing creature. It seems Bungie have done the opposite. Maybe they ran out of time, i don't know or they weren't happy with the original 'feed me Seymour' character design.

Yeah he's a formidable foe, and way to large to take on. Maybe a scarab encounter against gravemind would of been good, or as i suggested previously, to have to get to forward unto dawn with gravemind on you're tail. It definitely would have put the pressure on. all the regular enemies in front of you and gravmind hurtling after you to
A) exact some revenge for basically destroying him/it when halo blows up (Kill you and the arbiter)
and
B) try to escape in forward unto dawn, and back through the portal. You could have a scenario that cortana will detonate forward unto dawns reactor, if gravemind gets there before you.

Also a huge enemy like gravemind with his weight would cause even more damage to the disintegrating halo.
