In Response To: Keith David and Marty in Scientific American (Anton P. Nym (aka Steve)) I agree that good voice acting can be crucial to conveying a good story in a game, and they should be compensated accordingly. And at $190/hour, they are. The idea that they're underpaid--that they are more valuable than the writers who create their dialogue, or the artists that create the graphics, or the musicians, the animators, level designers, programmers--is ludicrous. Yes, they're important. So are a hell of a lot of other people. I'm reminded of a line Jerry O' Connell says in a recent spoof he did of Tom Cruise's Scientology video: "It is a privilege to be an actor, because you know that you really are . . . of no help to anyone."
