Upon reading a bunch of pre-release Halo 3 weekly updates just for kicks (and, to be honest, to search for "lies" that B.net forumites always seem to complaining about), and I stumbled upon the second ever mention of Sandtrap, long before either of its names were revealed. More specifically, the 5/4/2007 update. Quoth Frankie: "[...] I should have pointed out that Steve created Jub Jub (lovely and incredible map) while the ginormous vehicle apocalypse map is the work of the equally talented Justin Hayward. He probably won’t mind me pointing out that the metallic inlays in the rock structures on that map are incredible, and I have been scanning them for Easter eggs. Nothing yet." Makes me wonder if there is anything in there at all, or if it's just mindless random shapes for the sake of looking cool. But if I was making a texture like that, I could never resist throwing in some sort of egg, for my own sake...
