I don't know if this is entirely relevent since I don't normally deal with this kind of thing, but I unplugged my 360's ethernet and set the D/T to 11/1/07 at 12 am, and the stones showed up. Then I changed the date to 9/30 and the stones vanished.

If Bungie intends to add stuff for future holidays in an update, then we can't go ahead and check future dates (since it wouldn't be there yet until they update). But I think this one is as simple as changing your 360's D/T. Hafta be offline or disconnected to do it, but meh.
