I wonder if all of this is to keep us from being disappointed with Halo 3. While I certainly wasn't at all disappointed with H2, a LOT of people had set their expectations too high. Maybe Halo 3 is getting so much press so that we know exactly what we're getting. What's even better, is that the beta will set our expectations at a specific point. When Halo 3 ships, I'll bet that there'll be surprises, stuff that wasn't in the beta. What that'll do is serve to surpass our expectations. I tell ya, whoever came up with this marketing campaign made a really good move.
