Yes, but why would a Seraph inspire Marines to cry out? My hypothesis, similar to topleybird's, is that the reason the Marines are cheering and crying out is that the Master Chief has touched down. He's on Earth for the deciding battle of all of mankind -- he's their hero, and he may very well be the one to turn the tide of the war. After taking down Truth, being flung out, or having no other choice, he goes into free fall in low altitude, at a very outstretched angle (if Truth's ship is rocketing toward the Earth at an angle and the Chief jumps out, he'll continue at that acute angle). He finally hits dirt, his shields break, and skids to a halt before some Marine convoy (wink). Kind of unlikely explanation, but it really explains the "MC is beat up -- he's scratched" comment Frankie made in the "Making of" of the Halo 3 Announcement trailer. ~MS
