Maybe it means "BASE" or otherwise signifies a structure or position? I doubt that the symbol is specific to ARK, but is more of a pointer or caption designating a place.

The fact that it's in the 'blue base' fits this description, as well as it's position inside the laboratories and as a location marker for the potential Ark; the forerunner use the symbol to designate the presence of something, perhaps specific, or perhaps generally.
