In Response To: Re: A fan tribute to Halo ([AMS] GreyThor) I am not picking on [AMS] GreyThor, but I want to be sure there is clarity about this ‘DVD purchasing’ and tell you a couple things you might want to know about the film maker, Noah. Upon sending this I will be hiding in my bathroom, because he will be coming for me, because of this post. He knows where I live and yes I will be afraid. I admit that. Noah is a generous, stiff-necked, ex-marine, halo loving SOB, that would not ask a stranger for 5 cents if it would stop his eyes bleeding. I guarantee you he will lose money on every DVD that he ships. And he WANTS you to have it. He wants you to have the best resolution and sound if you are even a LITTLE interested. He will ask for the DVD Dual Layer media cost and the ‘shipping costs’ combined at a flat rate. Period. So you will get it FREE. ‘Free as in beer’ as they say. But there will be bad copies and bad media and variable shipping costs. And time? If 100 of you want one, (and that is not a big number) at um, 15 minutes a pop?, that’s 25 hours he can’t really use his computer and has to check on it and then test them, etc. And this very moment he is paying to have DVD cover art done and get up a website. Plus he has 2-3k into this already. This not a boo-hoo poor Noah post ( he is Mr. Happy right now, with all your kind attention to the trailer) or to make anyone feel guilty (that stuff is crap) but I wanted to lay the facts out and say some might want to look at his asking price to cover his costs and toss in a couple bucks extra or maybe one buck. Some may. 80-90 minutes of fun, might be worth it? I apologize if asking for a donation for Noah has broken any rules and caused any kind of faux pas. And if your situation or principles do not allow a couple bucks, that’s cool, bless you anyhow and please ask him for a DVD just the same. Or he will kill me. Time to hide; you have no idea how pissed he will be when he reads this.
