Inspiration needed *Long* | |

HELP! I need inspiration. I am trying to put together a science fiction story, but I am having trouble with it, in terms of ideas. It is strongly inspired by the Halo universe; in fact, if it wasn't for Halo, I would never have really thought of it. It is called Treizephelon. The basic plot follows; in some other universe, a pair of alien races is struggling in a galaxy full of war. They have been at war with rival species for millenia, and their forces are over extended. Looking for a way out of this deadly quagmire, they create 13 super soldiers and attendant weapons systems, which include a type of giant robot/mecha. These 13 "isitarine (turners)" are deployed in secret war against an unknown and bizarre enemy named "Zaheen". As events continue, they find the enemy's origins; a massive, portal-type construct called "Tesserra." They also find the whole war is contrived, and that their is a link between them and Zaheen. What can they do? Probably not very original, but that's all I came up with so far. -The Isitarines are essential a cross between a MJOLNIR armor wearing SPARTAN 2, a flood combat form, and the vampire hunter Blade from the Blade trilogy, in terms of ability, attitude, and skill. -Tesserra is a construct created by a long-dead race called the Xechephin, and like the Halos, was built for some unkown purpose. The Construct is the size of the planet Jupiter, and is composed of seperate components that move in sychrony with one another. -Zaheen is similar to the Flood, but is more akin to a kind of self-evolved race of robots that has run amok, though that is not their true origins. The two alien races that are central here are listed as follows: -Zhurha Gukai: These creatures are 7 feet tall, have pale white-pink or white-tan skin, and are vaguely humanoid and quadrupedal in appearance. They have large, spine-like growths on their backs, used for sensing vibrations, and they have a mane-like growth on their heads, giving them an appearance similar to that of a horse. Their skin is malleable and rubbery, but very strong, as they are to. They look a lot like living statues. -Jasidis: This is the most humanlike of all the races involved, in terms of appearance. They are the same size as a human, with nearly identical anotomy, physiology, etc. Their heads are shaped more like that of an egg, and they have larger eyes, and generally sharper features. Their eyes usually are amber, yellow, red, and silver, and they glow. They also have scale-like patterns on their bodies; they are actually a highly evolved reptilian race.
-Both races are, despite appearances, heavily augmented, different from their baseline types. There are different varieties and subspecies. Foes: -Xechuraten: A race of despotic, Egyptian God-like biomechanical creatures, who are the Xechephin's rival race. They are attempting to acquire Tesserra for their own unknown purposes. -Triadus: A covenant of three alien races who originated in systems that were in a triangle type pattern around the system where Tessera is located. They are also trying to acquire and activate Tesserra, in order to achieve what their progenitors, the Xechephin, failed to do, which is unknown. -Stalkuris: The leader race of the Triadus, these large, multi-legged, raptor and eel-like creatures are 8 feet tall, highly intelligent, technologically augmented, and very ambitious. They are extremely strong and fast, and use a variety of weapons and technologies. -Yarunima: Flexible, strong creatures that stand 6 feet tall, and look like a tangle of limbs, claws, tentacles, and a beady-eyed, snarling face. Second in command of the Triadus, they pursue foes with a loping, swinging, relentless gait. -Troocooda: The lowest ranking, but still respected race in the Triadus, these creatures stand at 5-6 feet tall, and resemble chitinous, multilimbed Hyenas. They serve their superiors faithfully, and are treated with respect in turn. They serve a wide range of purposes like the others, but are more numerous and tenacious. If you have seen the anime Rahxephon and its main source of inspiration, Neon Genesis Evangelion, you'll see where this is headed in. I am open to any ideas. |
