Why are people SO intent on spoiling the fun?

The idea is that people are SUPPOSED to be tricking you, and that you're supposed to go "haha, that was such a good prank" instead of going "OMG I'm too stupid to understand this thing called joke stop tricking me". Seriously. Stop whining and try to have fun. Please? You're ruining my favorite holiday.
