Mac Operating systems and Halo...

Matt, I expect (based on rumors, hearsay, astrology, and some paperwork you guys left behind when you moved offices) that Halo is probably not going to be released for non-Xbox platforms this side of 2002. However, MacOS X is going to be released Real Soon Now™, and I expect Steve (not Ballmer, the other one) to be kinda aggressive in encouraging people to migrate/upgrade/whatever as quickly as possible, by the usual mechanism of making the new hardware only support the current OS (He's a bit of a prick that way).

Now, I know development for non-xbox platforms stopped months ago, and the team probably won't start thinking about other platforms until the xbox version is done, and we don't even know if the port will even be done in-house by Bungie people (who may never want to see another polygon or heightmap again by then) or by third-world sweatshop coders who work for pennies a day, but...

Do you think it more likely that Halo would be an OS 9 app, carbonized, or written specificaly for OS X?

It's not something that's going to matter for a long time yet, but we don't have much to work with here, and you guys seem to have cracked down on the juicy rumors that generate the crack-fueled speculation that makes for a lot of the fun that goes on around here. Fixing importation bugs are cool and important and stuff, but somehow, the question of where the marine keeps his missilelauncher when he's not using it generates a lot more discussion around here.

Sorry about the mildly offensive question (all that beating around the bush is basically a polite way to ask 'how much do bungie coders suck'- that isn't the word on the whiteboard, is it?), but in the absence of screenshots or other things we can analyze to death, we're bound to start speculating about minor trivia like that.

Or you could ignore the last 6 paragraphs completely and go reboot Cortana. Who could have foreseen that such a minor incident as a few forged packets would put an AI into such an extended sulk? ;-)

Oh, and I was just kidding about the paperwork. gotcha {g}
