Which says a lot about M$'s "commitment" to open standards. M$ shows its greatest commitment to open standards when the standards have been created by others, such as AOL's Instant Messenger message protocol. My speculation about the proprietariness is that M$ will charge peripheral makers for the privilege of making X-box-compatible peripherals, thus getting an additional revenue source. |
