: So, until October 31st, frag hard! HBO-COERCE loves you! : -gwdpto HBO-COERCE means a lot to me and I am sad to see it go. I met many friends there a spent a lot of time playing HALO. I will truly miss HBO-COERCE. COERCE was there from the beginning of HALO PC and has remained a favorite for HALO players both familiar and not familiar with these forums. I would bet that the HBO-COERCE server has been the most popular HALO PC server of all time. It is centrally located in Dallas, Texas on a beefy computer at a super fast data center, which meant low pings and a smooth game. Old-school HALO fans that actually liked the XBOX maps made the gametypes, which meant great games to play. COERCE appealed to everyone that joined up, whether they read these forums or not. Quality server + good gametypes = GG. The admins were great. Yes, a few of the regulars got temp-banned a time or two, or stole the rcon password and got power hungry, or accidentally used the sv_end_game command, or accidentally typed the rcon password in the PUBLIC chat, or locked the server to start a private game of 'Hog launching in Blood Gulch. But, it was a hell of a lot of fun wasn't it? The admins ran a tight ship. That helped make the server so enjoyable. I could always log onto the server and not have to worry about TK'ers and AFK's while playing a variety of quality gametypes. It seemed there was always another admin in the game watching out for the server. I ended up meeting new friends that I had only known as a screen name on this forum. Even if we never talked in Ventrilo, I feel like I know the regulars a little better. HBO-COERCE was the birthplace of something I have invested a lot of time, sweat, pizza, and tears into. The cooked Gamers are forever thankful to COERCE. It was there that I met synide and jayWHY. It was there that we started our own dedicated HALO server and honed our HALO skills. Playing this game competitively was a blast while partnered with this server. HBO-COERCE may have a life after the release of HALO 2. Depending on Xbox Live's voice capabilities, a Ventrilo server might be set up for those wishing to play HALO 2 competitively. Also, if by chance a HALO 2 dedicated server is available, HBO-COERCE will have one of the first. (We know a host of a game doesn't have to be the one with all the bandwidth). Also, coerce.net isn't going anywhere. Its email services will continue as normal. A few regulars of the server have big plans for the domain so a new website may pop up in the near future. Thanks to all of the admins for stepping up and providing a great server to the HALO community. Thanks for all the regulars of the server. This community rocks. GG COERCE
