I work at a call centre that, among other things, handles chats for clients. Now in order to make it worthwhile, you can't have one rep handling one chat... too much dead time leads to too many man-hours (and thus wages) wasted on waiting for answers. So reps handle up to three at a time where I work. It can be higher elsewhere. Sometimes chatters are more on the ball, which can lead to hasty use of canned or brief responses that aren't complete answers. Also, the reps are under the gun to resolve issues quickly. In this case, I believe that the reps are dedicated tech support and would be under pressure to keep non-tech chats at a low priority. Art asked a tech support rep if this headset would be sold at gamestop. The tech support rep, not knowing at first that this was a sales issue (which should have been directed elsewhere!) went into the internal database and found no entries... and so concluded that it was a non-official product. Folks, the support reps aren't trained on upcoming product. They're only trained upon release... at most, a couple of days before. So these were questions that the poor rep could not answer. Please stop pestering the poor reps who are there to help with technical problems! They don't know any more about upcoming stuff than you... and maybe less, since they may not have the same level of Halo addiction! -- Steve would like to make a comment on the idiocy of people commenting on things they know little about, but would like to keep the post "G" rated if he can. | |
