In Response To: Re: That could be (Invictus) It's interesting to note that Mjolnir never had sheilds until right before Reach. The mission to infiltrate a Covenant cruiser and kidnap a Prophet was the very first mission that the Mk-V was issued for. It was also when the Spartans received the neural implants that allowed them to interface with an AI. What I take away from this is that the Mk-V suit may have actually been a prototype of sorts. A quick fix. It would seem plausible that the Mjolnir design team may have had more improvements to the weapon system that they were not able to implement in time for that critical mission. In this way the Mk-VI could have already been in development, just not yet off the factory floor. So they fabricated a rough set of Mk-IV suits in a quick refitt adding the most important advancements to aid the Spartans. Then simply shifted the model number to suit. (pardon the pun) The Mk-VI sure looks like a far more polished version. I realize that any newer model of anything is naturally a more refined version of anything previous, but I hope you get my drift. | |
