I think you need to post in smaller chunks. I find responding to long screeds gets harder the older I get. FWIW, though, I agree with you. My problem is always that I tend not to think to use a lot of those tactics, even though I do consider them legit, and get frustrated when they are used against me. The only exception I can think of is tanks on Ice Fields. Respawn camping there is just so much fun I can't stop myself. However, I would take you up on one point that you mentioned in your Battle Creek example. Let's say a 1x1 game starts like that. I end up pitched against a pistol maestro who tunes my ukelele for me a few times-- namely, every time I waltz into the open. So I do as you suggest-- change weapons, change location, change strategy, and make him come after me. So I sit and wait. And he waits. In this case, if I can't beat him at his own game, I will lose, if the game has a time limit rather than just a kill limit. I can lie in wait as a change in tactic, but he doesn't have to play my game if he doesn't want to. He can just sit on his lead. Now, this is a fairly simple situation-- a 1x1 on a small map. However, it applies equally well I think to FFA games and even team games where teams are relatively uncoordinated (which is many of them, at least in PC Halo). |
