Create a moron list. Add people to it upon the slightest provocation. Mine has stayed stable at around 7-8 people for a while now, and from talking to others who follow the forum I haven't missed any of the important / interesting discussions, while cutting my amount of time wasted by about a factor of four.

I've been prodding Ferrex to implement a user-customizable post colouring feature to help me with this, but no luck yet. :)
