In essence the SETI@home program replaces your system idle process. If SETI is set to run in the background (default on windoze, niced on -nix boxes) it will only use the spare cycles when you are useless to your computer. It doesn't make your computer useless to you, and with the processing necessary per SETI unit, your computer will be anything but idle. I bet you are just jealous that you didn't have 59k+ hours of free computer time in the last year. ;P --Banzif |
