I had the good fortune to end up at the front of the line for my third and last Halo viewing today, where Diana Donohue (Director of Operations) was in charge of letting people in. I asked her if she also played in the Halo games in the office and she said yes, she did most Friday nights and it was a lot of fun. Perhaps more interestingly, she also said that the controls were VERY simple. She remarked at how some games, like flight sims, have very complicated controls, but that Halo wasn't like that at all. She said it "was really easy to just get started playing." On a related note, Joe Staten (who did the little intro showing the marine, jeep, and Covenant flyer) said that the controls were the same for all, no matter if you are in a vehicle, flyer, or water craft (!) or running.
Joe also said, "You'll be playing just like this with YOUR friends, soon." How soon? We'll see.
