Question for Matt re: HW T&L and nVidia | |
Posted By: BigBoote <BigBoote66@hotmail.com> | Date: 4/26/00 9:45 p.m. |
Matt, I've answered people's questions in the past as to whether Halo would support hardware T&L, based on nVidia's page indicating games that support the GeForce (Oni & Halo were listed). However, considering that Halo has been the darling of the gaming press lately, especially in the 'graphic splendor' department, I was surprised not to see Bungie/Halo featured on the "Games" page for the new GeForce2. Bungie's been talking about per-pixel reflections in Halo for some time, and to my untrained eye, the polygon count in those movies seems pretty high (am I also correct in assuming that the reflections we're seeing on the water is a result of a bump map?). Why wasn't Bungie in nVidia's little hall of fame? There haven't been any titles out there so far that have had great support for HW T&L, just the technology demos like Treemark & Zoological Gardens. Is Bungie hoping to make a big splash with HW T&L, or is it still to early to say? I'll understand if you're unable to answer. -BbT
