Right you are! It was scrawled on the map of the Marathon 1 level Never Burn Money. Not that that helps us very much. By placing it on the map, Bungie gave us absolute knowedge that this was a fact, but no actual evidence that could be used as proof within any game scenario itself. And this still doesn’t explain how Jjaro technology could have been encorporated by Strauss into his AIs since this ocurred 300 years before the Marathon reached Tau Ceti. Of course, it’s possible that we had previously sent probes to or explored Tau Ceti, but that would have meant that the probes would have had to have been launced some 692 years before the Marathon reached Tau Ceti (300 years travel time before Marathon left Mars plus the 92 years noted by Lela on G4 Sunbathing for a transmission to return to Earth).

BTW, I seem to remember that the marine himself may have Jjaro implants. Does anyone recall where this information came from?
