The Fall of Reach was an awesome read, but it's frustrating that Bungie didn't use more of it in Halo the game. So much attention is put on the secret mission to infiltrate a Covenant ship, Captain Keyes' character developement, and secrets of the PoA. Then Bungie just tossed it all out the window.
Grrrr ... and I wish a chapter would have been included describing the events of the other SPARTANs battling on the ground at Reach.
Make no mistake, I am not disappointed in FoR. When I picked it up, I half expected it to be a really big long advertisement for Halo. But even Halo (the game) were never made, FoR would still stand on its own two feet. I just wish Eric would have worked on the game as well as the book and made the two flow together a little better! :-)
