I attribute this to battleroids being used by both sides at once.
: There is a gap of 600 years between the first use of battleroids and the
: events aboard the Marathon, 300 years between the war and the launch of
: the Marathon. It's likely that much more advanced models were developed
: and introduced during this period, and I believe the Mjolnir Mk IV to be
: one of the most advanced. Could Battleroids as described (dead soldiers
: recycled in makeshift factories) have been successfully infiltrated into
: the Colony?
This leads to another interesting idea... Why not recycle a soldier who is already a battleroid in the same way an original human soldier would be? Would they simply resurrect him, or take the opportunity to outfit him with the latest and greatest equipment? This would lead to there being very few individual battleroids ever, as long as they can be retrieved and rebuilt. (Of course this would only be possible sometimes, it's hard to resurrect someone who's been atomized by an atomic blast or hurled off the ship into outer space etc.) So there might be some battleroids on the Marathon whose original consciousness and experiences date back to the original Icarus/Thermopylae war.
