I think it's something like beginning at the end: this shows what would happen if you failed. Or...even more interesting: you failed. Now Thoth will teleport you back...to the beginning (or is it Thoth? I believe when the Jjaro come, they speak similarly...but I could be wrong) to get it right. Forget about closure of the universe; you've got closure of your own actions here, and to escape, you must get it right.
Escape will make you god.
