: 4)The purple haze underneath Cortana. I'm fairly certain this is an effect of
: a "projector" underneath Cortana which is creating her
: holographic image.
Good thinking.. could be.
: 5)The depth of everything. From closest to furthest: the transparant surface
: with the grid and diagrams; Cortana; the small brown 'wall' (I'm not sure
: if it's a wall.. i can't figure out why a stump of a wall would be there,
: but the lines running up the wall defy the perspective of a floor.. I am
: sure that it's not the planet, however, because if you look at the very
: right of the wall, you will see that it extends beyond the planet.); THE
: TWO DOWNWARD FACING SCREENS (capitalized for a reason); and finally Halo
: and the planet. The transparent grid is obviously in front; cortana's
: looking in our (very) general direction at it from behind (to our
: perspective), and nothing blocks our view of it. Note how the orange
: 'ship' icons mostly obscure Cortana wherever they 'overlap' her. Cortana
: (with her purple haze) is next; she's behind the grid, but slightly
: obscures everything else she overlaps. Especially note how her legs are in
: FRONT of the SOLID frames of the downward facing screens. Next is the
: wierd wall stump.. nothing but the grid and cortana is in front of that,
: and it's solid, so we can't see anything. Boring. Then comes the screens.
: Why are the screens facing down? Simple.. they're 20 or more feet behind
: the wall stump (which appears to be right behind Cortana), and they're
: facing down at a lower area, presumably a recessed bridge pit. This is
: supported when you look at the perspective of the 'beam' (for lack of a
: better word coming to mind) holding the screens, you can see it come up
: the back wall and travel along the ceiling parallel (once you account for
: perspective distorion) with the other two ceiling beams. Coolness.
That's about my thinking now, except I think it's all backwards, and that we're seen reflections. We're looking at a black shiny wall on which is displayed some information (PoA and other ships presumably) and seeing in it the reflection of Cortana next to us, and the room behind us. Yes, about the recessed bridge area below us. Still questions though the fact that the third screen above the two facing down can't be seen very well if there's a floor down there to look up from.
: 6) The numbers attached to the (presumed) ships on the transparent grid. I'm
: not going to even think about these now.. I figure there's no particular
: deep meaning to them, and probably not any logicical scheme that we would
: be able to deduct.
Yeah, that's what I figure too, but they don't look random. There are patterns. Maybe they just constructed them that way though
