That screenshot with the name "Toadkiller Dog" predates Doug Zartman. Doug joined Bungie in May '94. You'll find two screenshots with the name "Toadkiller Dog" on the back of original PID box. The box dates from before Aug '93.
Given the Toadkiller Dog/Black Company/Myth connection my guess would be that this was Jason's nick when playtesting PID.
