Sorry If I play the heritic here.
Oni was fun when I played it. And maybe a week or two after I beat it. But after a while the game got old. Indeed Oni has an interesting story, and good characters, but nothing near the depth of Marathon. Marathon left us with puzzels to piece together, Oni only makes room for speculation, rather than interpretation. The levels aren't that pretty to look at, and information terminals provide little or nothing to the plot. I admit that the unarmed combat is beyond comparison, but this seemes to negate the use of weapons which are practicly useless. And Oh yeah, Where are the "steel demons"! come on.
Anyway, I admit that Oni has a good story (Hats off to Konoko, one of the few computer game characters who actually has emotion,try that JC Denton), but it's hardly up to what we would expect from Bungie. hats off to Konoko, one of the few computer game characters who actually has emotion, .
