: Yeah, I'm sure Bungie would just roll over and put forth the rights to make a
: Marathon movie because a few kids on the internet kindly asked them to do
: it. Bungie is down right sick of Marathon and all it's hype. Why don't you
: people just accept the fact that it's a video game, and it's not meant to
: be taken seriously. Sure, we've all had our share of fun times with
: Marathon, but it's dated, old and worn out. A movie would hardly reawaken
: the patriotic spirits of long-past Marathoners.
Pfhortran (Aleph One) let's you do all kind of complex scripting like camera movement and controlling monster-sprecific actions. It's still buggy, but this language promise mapmakers the possibility of doing in-game cut scenes like the ones found in the Myth games. Maybe in the future a real-time Marathon novel can be made with Aleph One. The possibility of writing an on-line novel have been opened since the very beginning (the Descent series have thier own print novels), but telling the story through terminals is more marathonish.
