Personally, I think all the Marathon : references were for fun and much of the game has been inspired (the body : armor looks a little like a marine) and from what this page shows, there : are a few marathon logos in HALO. However, there are slightly more : references, but they are cute touches such as when the little grunts run : away screaming 'they're everywhere!' But i seriously think people are : looking into this a little too deeply, sorta like comparing the Buffy : movie to the series, some similarities but totally different, one inspired : by the other. Uuuh... What? Bungie's official explanation of what, exactly? The Marathon series? Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think most of us here understand what Marathon is. Well, a sizeable proportion of us, at least.:) Besides, nowhere in there did Matt Soell, Lord Of Bungie Canon and Other Stuff, say that Marathon and Halo AREN'T connected. In fact, he rather hinted at the opposite. Something to think about.;) Anyway, basically... There may be a connection. There may be not. But, as you clearly are not a True Fory'er, you have yet to understand the sheer bliss that comes from speculating endlessly about what may or may not be. Doesn't matter if it makes a difference or not, or if in fact there *is a connection at all*. We just do it because we can. :) Service With Smile:), Scifiteki
