There is : one pic of native S'pht being captured by Pfhor, somewhere in the M2 : terminal pics. They look like squishy brain-creatures that ride atop the : little grav units you see inside the Compiler robe. Add a helmet and robe, : and you're... here. So the S'pht exterior is actually a vehicle? Interesting thought. But if it's a vehicle, does that mean that the cybernetic aspect came from their motion? I thought the S'pht talked about how their sentience was dependent upon welding to mechanisms. There seems to be a little more to them than just squishy beanoids with eyes. : Remember that the Enforcers wear robes, too. Perhaps the Compilers are robed : to designate them as directly subordinate to the Willful-class Enforcers. Hmm...like the osequious American neck-tie? My thought was that they wore the robes for the psychic health of their masters. They do have a somewhat more "life-like" shape with the robes, though they really look like something completly weird. My thoughts are worth...three cents. Shem
