In Response To: Re: Marathon mentioned in Gamespot video (VikingBoyBilly) : Would you believe I finished Corridor 7 and tried to play operation body
The only way I'll be playing OBC is the Doom engine fan remake, which is actually pretty good from what I've seen unlike the original. Believe it or not I did download Tekwar for use in sourceports in case I decide to give it a go despite knowing it's bad. (I like the original novels which are decent cyberpunk/sci fi stories) I haven't really gone further than the Marty Dollar stage. Would you believe GOG are selling Capstone games now? No Tekwar, but Witchhaven, Corridor 7 and OBC are there. They're around £3.00 on sale. (normally £5.00) Speaking of Doom OBC, some of its gameplay is a bit like Marathon in that you often have actual mission objectives to complete. One involves disarming a bomb but you need to find all the keys before hitting the switches or else it goes off anyway. I'd start on System Shock 2 sooner rather than later: the remake of the first game & possibly SS2 Enhanced as well was pushed back to March and while there's a chance it will finally come out, they've done this so often before I'm not holding my breath. Currently I'm doing a writeup of similarities to Marathon & PID I found in Powerslave. I'll likely post the full thing on my log and only post the more relevant parts here as it's half a review/talkthrough as I haven't played before. I'm thinking about putting off doing a similar one for Marathon/PID & System Shock until you beat SS2 as I'm worried about spoilers.
