Thanks for the pics and the link. I must check out Violet Evergarden. I am sure our resident artist General-RADIX is familiar with this anime work and may be able to shed some light on it.
I have to say that is one of the closest looking Marathon symbols I have seen in a long time.
It would not surprise me if this was intentional. There was/is a large Marathon fan base in Japan. Bungie even announced Marathon Infinity at Tokyo Macworld in 1996. I recall a pic of Jonas Eneroth (I think) surrounded by booth girls. He must have thought he was 'The Man' that day. I must see if I can find it in the Story page archives.
