Maybe you should just resist the urge to post immediately, and instead accumulate knowledge, then post only when you're truly, truly stuck.

You don't need glade, you don't need to compile Weland yourself. You can't use the latest version of Mono (until Weland is updated) so start installing progressively older ones until it works. 3.2 worked for me a couple years ago so try that.
