Hmm, I dl'ed a fresh version of M1A1 and added the files but the textures came out as kind of wonky, might just be I did something wrong though.

I think this could be a very legit project, to fill in additional story and maps around M1's loose ends would be a lot of fun to play, something both novel and nostalgic. In the Pfhorums you mentioned the M1 maps "suffer[ing] by not being believable space", and I really agree. Part of that is the charm of the M1-era maps, that they're more focused on tricks/obstacles than practicality, but we've played these maps so many times by now and I'd love to see more of them re-envisioned in such a way.
