Perhaps a combination of "the SO is superhuman" and plain old "acceptable breaks from reality" (dying upon entering a vacuum environment wouldn't be terribly fun)?

His armour could be built to withstand vacuum, though not have any of the fancier vac suit stuff like apparently-infinite oxygen. Infinity's chapter art depicts him in armour that looks like it could handle vacuum better than his usual jumpsuit/armour combo.
